Note: If you were in the playoffs then the chances your on the list is damn small.
East:
Boston Celtics:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Al Jefferson PF 22 6'10'' 268 B- D+ D- B- B A
Joe Johnson SG 26 6'7'' 230 B- B+ B B C- B
Gerald Green SG 21 6'8'' 203 B+ B C- B- C- A
Donta Smith SG 23 6'7'' 215 B- B- C B- C- B
Jarrett Jack PG 23 6'3'' 202 C C+ B- B- D+ A
Overview:
Yeah, they don't have there pick this yr but at least they have a good core to build with. Also I believe they have all there own picks so if anything happens, they could do something via the draft (if Jiggy wants to). They should be a playoff team based off there core soon though. Saying that though, it would be nice if they had a center to fill out that lineup. Perkins is solid but i'm not sure if he will get much better. Who knows though.
New Jersey Nets:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Nenad Krstic C 24 7'0'' 243 B C D+ B+ C+ A
Brandan Wright PF 19 6'10'' 210 B C- C- B+ C+ A
Thaddeus Young SF 19 6'8'' 215 B C+ C B+ C A
Marcus Williams PG 21 6'3'' 205 C+ B- B+ C+ C- B
Overview:
Just going of the ratings, that front court is damn nice looking. Would be nice if Young could grab some more rebounds but he was a rookie and that should improve. Any who, the Nets are here because of that front court. They really don't have a young 2 to speak of and i'm still a bit iffy on Williams though he does have a solid A:TO ratio and i'm sure his stealing ability is around 95. We'll see if the Nets can land a young stud at the 2 spot during the draft. It's the perfect time to do so.
Orlando Magic:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Darko Milicic C 22 7'0'' 248 B- C- D+ B+ C+ A
Dwight Howard PF 21 7'0'' 268 B D+ C- B+ A- A
J.J. Redick SG 23 6'4'' 190 C A C B- D+ B
Bill Walker SG 19 6'6'' 225 B+ C+ C C+ C- B
Jameer Nelson PG 25 6'0'' 190 C+ A- B B+ C- B
Overview:
Let's make one thing clear. I put the Magic here so Scott wouldn't have to write a 3 paragraph post about how the Magic are getting left out (I love you Scott). Any who. The magic do have a solid core. Darko may be paid mostly based on potential but at least he's only 22, has A potential, is averaging close to a double double and almost 2 bpg. He should be able to be worth his pay soon enough. Joining him in the front court is Dwight Howard which is someone I shouldn't have to speak on. JJ can shot damn well which is always a great type of player to have. Normally I wouldent put up a player like Walker but his last TC was to sick to ignore. If he keeps up like that, watch out. Then you have Nelson who's an underrated PG in my opinion. Oh and can't forget that the Magic have a lotto pick in this coming draft.
Atlanta Hawks:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Tyson Chandler C 25 7'1'' 235 C+ D D A- A- B
Julian Wright SF 20 6'8'' 213 B- C- B- A- C A
Randy Foye SG 24 6'4'' 210 B B+ B- B- C- A
Sebastian Telfair PG 22 6'0'' 163 C+ B- A- B D A
Acie Law PG 22 6'3'' 185 C B- C+ C+ D+ A
Overview:
I'll keep it quick since this is my team. Foye's a potential superstar. Telfair may be trying to cash in to make up for his stolen chain but at least he's a damn solid PG. Wright's a different type of player which is always fun. Chandler can play D and rebound. Lotto pick this yr.
Indiana Pacers:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Channing Frye C 24 6'11'' 248 B- C D+ B B- B
*Tiago Splitter C 22 7'0'' 245 C+ C- C- B C+ B
James White SF 24 6'7'' 200 B- B- C B+ C B
Shawne Williams SF 21 6'9'' 225 C+ B- C- B- C A
Dwyane Wade SG 25 6'4'' 212 A C+ B+ A+ C B
Marco Belinelli SG 21 6'5'' 192 C+ A- C C+ D+ A
*Kyle Lowry PG 21 6'0'' 175 C+ C+ C+ A- C B
Overview:
Totally honest right now. No way would I have put Indy here before I remembered the picks they had. The potential adding of Rose and placing him with Wade is scary enough. They also have another lotto pick they can improve the frontcourt with. Depending on this draft, the Pacers could be a potential beastly team for years to come or another potential filled team going nowhere.
*Tiger = Homer.
Toronto Raptors:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Chris Bosh PF 23 6'10'' 238 B+ C+ C B+ B B
Joakim Noah PF 22 6'11'' 232 B C- C+ B B- A
Andrea Bargnani PF 21 7'0'' 253 B B C- C+ C A
Tayshaun Prince SF 27 6'9'' 215 B- B C+ A C- B
Overview:
Giraffe neck is what he is. A stud PF with some room to still improve so I wouldn't say much about him. Noah still looks like he could end up being a stud and if he is, he could possibly be even better then Bosh which is scarier. While I feel Andrea won't be the next Dirk, I do feel like he can become a poor man's Dirk which would be solid enough. Prince may not put up stud stats but having a A defender and a guy that can score when needed is never bad. Oh and yeah, they shouldn't have traded Ford. Anyways. They do have there own pick so they should be able to pick up a solid player.
West:
Denver Nuggets:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Yi Jianlian PF 19 7'0'' 230 B B C C+ C A
Carmelo Anthony SF 23 6'8'' 233 A- B- C B C- B
Shannon Brown SG 21 6'4'' 205 B- C+ C B C- B
Raymond Felton PG 23 6'1'' 198 C+ B- A- B C- A
Overview:
Yes, they only have 3 core players right now (and a who knows in Brown), however, they can quite easily fill up one of the holes in this 2 guard filled draft. Melo is his usual lesbian looking self. Yi might be just like Andrea in that he more then likely won't be the next Dirk but a poor man's Dirk instead. Felton looks like he can become a stud PG soon enough. Plus, they will have a lot of cap space so they should be able to sign some talent. Young or old, well, we'll see but for now they are here.
Minnesota Timberwolves:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
David West PF 27 6'9'' 240 B C C- B- B- B
Marvin Williams SF 21 6'9'' 230 B C+ C- B- C A
L.R. Mbah a Moute SF 20 6'7'' 227 B- C C B B- A
Martell Webster SG 20 6'7'' 213 C+ A- D+ C+ C- A
Devin Harris PG 24 6'3'' 185 B C C+ A C- B
Sergio Rodriguez PG 21 6'3'' 168 C B B- C+ D+ A
Overview::
Ok. It was a bit hard for me to actually include the Wolves here but screw it. They do have some pieces in Williams and West. LBM2 is a sexy beast. Harris should still have some sort of potential left. White chocolate should be able to get better and hopefully Webster doesn't end up busting out. Should be interesting though.
Portland Trailblazers:
Potential Face of the Franchise:
Core:
Andris Biedrins C 21 6'11'' 245 C+ D D B+ B- A
LaMarcus Aldridge PF 22 6'11'' 228 B C- D B C+ A
Kevin Durant SF 18 6'10'' 205 B- B C+ C+ C+ A
Brandon Roy SG 23 6'6'' 215 C+ B+ C+ B- C A
Overview:
The Duck took over a team with nice young talent and via last yrs draft, added Durant. He also added a nice, young and talented C in Biedrins. Roy is sexy of course and Aldridge is a few improvements away from being that damn good PF people feel he can be. If the Blazers land Rose or even Mayo, they would have a starting lineup full of A potential players. Hopefully the Duck can build that up into a beastly team.
Random comments:
1. Wife: *Looking at Melo pic* Since when are females playing in the NBA?
Me: Uh, that's Carmelo Anthony.
Wife: *Says nothing and walks away*
2. I swear Bosh's neck gets longer every year.
3. Yes. I did take the worse pic I can find for each player. Sue me.
4. The West sucks.
5. This is pre-draft order coming out. Whoever lands the 1st pick then comes to bitch will be called a flaming homo. No exceptions.
