Greg OdenGreg Oden's college career got off to a slow start, with his wrist injury still causing him some problems. However, it wasn't long before Oden showed his true colours, with some emphatic displays for Ohio State, especially on the defensive end. Oden has been a little inconsistent and has struggled offensively, in part due to the nightly double teams that he faces. However, Ohio State are having a great year, and the main reason for that is Oden's defensive ability. Some of you will remember Mr Robinson's Neighbourhood. What we're witnessing here is the 2000s version. Kevin DurantMuch like Oden, Kevin Durant is struggling with consistency in his freshman year at Texas, especially with his range which has been hot then cold on a game-by-game basis. However, Durant has shown enough flashes of brilliance to force many scouts to ponder whether he might actually have a chance to be taken 1st overall ahead of Greg Oden. Stranger things have happened. Joakim NoahJoakim Noah is the undisputed star of the NCAA. After winning a national championship as a sophomore, Noah's Florida Gators team looks set to repeat it's success again this year. Noah has added some strength and improved his conditioning since last year, with excellent results. Based on current ability, Noah should be the top pick in the draft. Thaddeus YoungThaddeus Young has taken some people by surprise this year. The freshman forward has emerged as Georgia Tech's go-to player despite his young age. He's still prone to making the occasional mistake with the ball, but comparisons to Paul Pierce and Grant Hill seem justified. Tyler HansbroughBrandon WrightJeff GreenRoy HibbertTwo of the best tandems in the league right now are Tyler Hansbrough and Brandan Wright of North Carolina and Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert of Georgetown. All four players are projected to be 1st round picks in the 2007 draft, and with good reason; Hansbrough is nearly unstoppable in the post; Wright's athleticism is making him into a household name; Green has become one of the most well-rounded players in the NCAA; and Hibbert's game has finally caught up with his size.

Greg Oden says: "Nobody seems to care, so I might stay in college for a couple more years"

I love this draft class and I am probably going to have a top 4 pick. I would actually be really happy with Noah more then anyone else for some reason. Either way one of these guys are going to be a bust

Yeah, I love this class too, which is why I chose to rebuild so early Oden is Oden, so I'd be very happy to land him. I have man-love for Durant, especially after drafting him in the NBN with somewhat shitty ratings, but I had a hunch about him, he exploded, and I ended up trading for like Garnett or something which brought me a ring Then there's Joakim Noah, who rounds up the top three very nicely, leaving anyone with a top 3 pick very happy too

This draft is definitely a good one. Not only have you got guys like Oden, Durant and Noah at the top, but you've also got great depth in the 1st round at least.
One thing worth noting is that this draft totally sucks for point guards. Seriously, it's amazing how bad it is for PGs (considering what a strong draft it is overall).

Aaron Gray should be a lotto worthy player.

Yeah, if he has a good season he'll be a potential lottery pick next year. Even if you only have marginal skills, being 7'0" and 280 some pounds will get you drafted fairly high.

Also, out of curiousity, will the draft classes in NBL be a bit increased in talent similar to the past few NBN drafts?

Also, out of curiousity, will the draft classes in NBL be a bit increased in talent similar to the past few NBN drafts? Yes, probably similar to the past couple of NBN drafts. Basically, they'll be as realistic as possible. I think the first few NBN drafts were possibly a little too weak (or, at least, lacking in depth).

Are we going to see the same players we saw in the NBN? Will the likes of J-Myke and Stevie Taylor be making an appearance in this league ten or so seasons down the line seeing as you've already spent so much time on those draft classes?

I'll be using real players, if that's what you mean. But it doesn't mean they'll look the same in this league as they did in the NBN.

I guess I was just wondering if we'll see the same players come through drafts like we did in the NBN, and I was wondering about whether they'd be of the same talent level too... e.g. if Ralph Sampson comes into the NBL, he'll be a beast, and if Kyle Luckett does, he'll be a bust... or if Randy Collins comes into this league will he be similar to the Legends version, the NBN version, or totally different, etc.
Or are we going to be totally mystified by them all?
