Before I even say anything, shut your mouths. This was the best I could do.
Celtics trade: Paul Pierce, Brian Scalabrine
Cavs trade: Zach Randolph, Donta Smith, Jarrett Jack, 2009 Cavs 1st
I agree and cut Luke Walton.
Sadly, PP's value around the league has dropped immensely. The guy turns 30, drops from an A- inside to a B+ and all of a sudden, I can't get more than 3 replies in a trade thread for him. And I can see why. His production is way, way off and no matter what I do, I can't get him to score more than 18ppg anymore. That's a full 7ppg off of last year's total. And the goddamn turnovers are killing me. Not good.
Even though KG has used Zach in strange ways, he still puts up top ten PF numbers. Being used in a more conventional way, I can see him getting close to 20 and 10 and...y'know...not turning the ball over 3+ times a game. Zach's tremendous inside presence will help out quite a bit. That C defense is a little glaring, but his low steals/blocks totals lead me to believe he has solid positioning, so I'm not all that worried. I think though, that this trade should be judged by how well Donta and Jack end up. Smith had a massive TC and even just a few more improvements would see him end up as a solid starter. Same goes for Jack.
All in all, I end up paying a premium price for a solid big, which I'm not ashamed to do for the sake of competing. And I get some good youngsters and a first to go with him. And I get rid of that useless albatross, Scalabrine.
