The Insider has been watching these NCAA prospects all season long and knows all there is to know - the only thing that is a mystery is their potential, which the Insider cannot touch upon.
Tyler Hansbrough has spectacular hands. He can flat out dominate in the post and is likely to be the best inside scorer on his team, almost regardless of which team drafts him. He's not a great defender, nor is he a gifted rebounder, but the kid can score inside and has solid range to boast. If he's a starter, the Insider loves his rookie of the year possibilities.
Joakim Noah may be the most versatile big man to enter the NBA in a long time. He can score, pass, block, steal - you name it, he can do it.
Marco Bellineli may have the skills to play PG in the Euroleagues, but count on him to be a sharpshooting SG in the pros. He's quick and can shoot the lights out.
Corey Brewer will lock you down on the perimeter, steal the ball and stuff it down your throat with ease. He has the defensive abilities to cover every position.
Let's talk about Greg Oden: He'll enter the league as a top shot blocker, he's extremely strong and uses that strength to maximize his rebounding and scoring, the man is basically built like a brick and should be a future all-star in this league, however, he's definitely closer to Erick Dampier than he is to Shaq.
Brandan Wright is a feisty player. He's a solid scorer, likes to block shots, is quick as a cat and is a hawk on the offensive boards. If his potential is decent, he is a top-3 player in this draft. His skills and quickness at the power forward spot are hard to come by.
I haven't seen all that much of Bill Walker as an NCAA analyst, but from the video clips I have watched, he can jump out of the gym and make some of the craziest put-back jams ever. He reminds me a lot of Desmond Mason.
I haven't seen much of Yi Jianlian either, but from what I've seen Jianlian is such an oddity. He's an insane athlete and has one of the smoothest jump shots to boast. He will give defenders headaches for a long time and he can also block a shot here and there.
Look out for Ron Steele - he may be the steele of the draft! He reminds me of Chauncey Billups. Hype surrounding this kid will either make a team very disappointed that they took him early or very pleased. Drafting Steele will be risk/reward.
Courtney Lee loves to steal the ball - he basically gets off on it. Aside from him, if you're looking for steals, nobody else comes very close.
Dominic James reminds me of Earl Boykins quite a bit. He'd be the ideal candidate for a team who needs a PG to give them solid bench minutes.
Roy Hibbert and Aaron Gray are big, tough guys who can get the job done. Neither of them are very fast or overly gifted, but they'll give you solid minutes.
My International scout friends say that there's an International player who will turn some heads and can flat out ball - bummer that I can't remember his name.
